"Nostalgia is denial - denial of the painful present… the name for this denial is golden age thinking - the erroneous notion that a different time period is better than the one ones living in - its a flaw in the romantic imagination of those people who find it difficult to cope with the present."
Midnight In Paris

I’m sitting in a Toyota lounge waiting for an oil change. They have a cafe… And I’m tempted to buy something.

But last night, I was roasting a marshmallow over the stove for s’more purposes. Like a fiend, I licked the burning fork and it resulted in my tongue being scarred with four white lines to showcase my gluttony. I’m pretty sure my tastebuds are gone for the next week or so.

So, cafe drinks seem almost pointless. Plus, I feel I should save my money for real coffee shops as I’m headed to Boulder today to get my Mac fixed. Not just ones in Toyota lounges. Oh, and no more oinking Mac! Slowly, but surely, I’m piecing my deteriorating, marshmallow burnt life back together.

"I’m not fascinated by people who smile all the time. What I find interesting is the way people look when they are lost in thought, when their face becomes angry or serious, when they bite their lip, the way they glance, the way they look down when they walk, when they are alone and smoking a cigarette, when they smirk, the way they half smile, the way they try and hold back tears, the way when their face says they want to say something but can’t, the way they look at someone they want or love… I love the way people look when they do these things. It’s… beautiful."
